There are many things to do in Atlanta during Black Pride Weekend
If you’re going to be in Atlanta anytime from September 2-7, 2015, you may want to attend some of the exciting events connected with Atlanta Black Pride Weekend 2015. The weekend culminates with the Pure Heat Community Festival at Piedmont Park on September 7. There will be a variety of presentations and live entertainment on this day. The festival takes place from noon to 8 p.m. and will be host to thousands of men and women from all over who wish to celebrate their strong community. Some of the scheduled events include:
- Noon - Gospel House Music
- 3:25 p.m. -Wells Fargo Sponsor Moment
- 4:00 p.m. -Greek Stroll Competition, presented by the Greek Rainbow Network
- 4:50 p.m. -Fashion Show
- 5:35 p.m. -Hair Battle presented by Beauty Consultant Magazine
- 6:25 p.m. -Grammy Award Winning Artist Performance
- 7:05 p.m. -J-Sette Competition
Many more TBA events will be scheduled for the festival as well. The purpose of the PHC Festival is to promote pride with unity, bringing together people from different backgrounds and lifestyles. In addition to entertainment, the event will have food vendors, community forums and giveaways. Some of the issues that the festival will call attention to include protecting the environment, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, women's health and wellness and youth mentoring.
