It’s time to get ready for the Buckhead Spring Arts & Crafts Festival. If you are looking for things to do in Atlanta, this two day outdoor event presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces gives an emphasis on the visual arts and is an amazing good time. This marks the fifth year of this festivity that will be held on May 10th and 11th in Chastain Park, the largest public park in Atlanta.
The festival features artists from all walks, photographers, painters, sculptors, leather crafters, metal crafters, jewelers and many more approximately up to 185 unique artists in all. Some of this year's participating artists along with pictures of their artwork can be found on the festival's website along with a list of 2013 artist winners.
There will be live entertainment consisting of acoustic music performed by local musicians. Musicians interested in performing at next year’s event can submit and entry online.
Besides the art displays and music being performed, there will be plenty of artist demonstrations, an “antiques alley”, and children’s area as well as unique and unusual food to delight your appetite.
This festival benefits a scholarship fund for local artists administered by the Georgia Foundation for Public Spaces. Admission is always free and children and pets are welcome.
The Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center is located in the heart of Buckhead and less than 4 miles from Chastain Park. It’s the perfect place to stay if you are an artist participating in the Buckhead Spring Arts & Crafts Festival or a spectator coming to visit.
