Taylor Swift 1989 World Tour at the Georgia Dome

GA Dome concerts are a great way to experience live music in a large arena

Come and see the Taylor Swift 1989 World Tour at the Georgia Dome on October 24, 2015. It will be Taylor Swift's first concert at the Georgia Dome, and the excitement and anticipation are already building. You will not want to miss out as this Grammy Award winning artist brings her 1989 tour to one of the most popular arenas in the Southeast.

The 1989 World Tour has been Swift's most successful live venture to date, often selling out large stadiums. Swift appears on stage with 13 other musicians who complement her impressive vocals. While her sets on this tour are filled with songs from her 1989 album, including the hits "Shake it Off," "Wildest Dreams," and "Blank Space," fans can count on old favorites such as "Tear Drops On My Guitar," "Love Story," and "Mine" to be featured as well.

The Georgia Dome is the perfect venue to witness this amazing performance and sing along to your favorite hits. This venue offers great acoustics, and the full array of speakers means that every fan will hear the music, regardless of where they are sitting. There is a vast selection of concessions to choose from, and the workers are efficient and friendly. In addition to Taylor Swift's concert, the venue will also host the Bands of America Regionals, the Honda Battle of the Bands, and, of course, many Falcons games.

When you book a room at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center, you will be staying in a comfortable location just a short distance away from the Georgia Dome. This hotel is also near a MARTA Station, Atlanta's public transportation system, which can take you to the stadium. It's the best choice when it comes to hotels near the Taylor Swift concert.

Get Scared and Have Fun: Halloween Events in Atlanta

Kick off the fall with some terrifying times celebrating Halloween in Buckhead.

With so many Halloween events in Atlanta, it can be hard to know the best one to choose. There are three area favorites, however, that are always a good choice.

The Little 5 Points Halloween Festival & Parade is October 17, 2015. Various vendors will take to the streets of Little 5 Points to sell food, beverages, and souvenirs throughout the day. Get there early to get a good seat for the parade. You can spend a pleasant Fall Saturday watching a procession of spooky floats roll down the street while enjoying local food. Several area breweries will have stands onsite for beer lovers.

The Netherworld Haunted House is one of the country's most renowned haunted house attractions. It opens September 25, 2015, and this year's theme is the Rotting. There, you will make your way through the dark interior of a Gothic mansion where horrors lurk around every corner. Actors, animatronics, and various other props work in unison to scare you senseless. Will you make it through or will the witches trap you there forever? Screaming has never been this much fun.

The Historic Oakland Cemetery is a Victorian graveyard where many of the most important, and storied, citizens of Atlanta were buried. From October 23-31, 2015, the Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tour takes visitors through the eerily lit gardens and monuments that fill its grounds while entrancing them with tales of both those resting in peace and the more restless spirits. There will also be live music and a fortune teller.

If you’re coming to enjoy the Halloween festivities, our hotel, Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center, is a near all the action and offers many amenities. After the day’s frightful experiences, you can enjoy a haven of comfort and relaxation.

GAY-PRIDE_Woman-face-painted-with-Pride-FlagThe Atlanta Pride Festival takes place in Piedmont Park and includes three exciting parades to celebrate and empower people in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. People are encouraged to bring signs and march in support of LGBT. The biggest LGBT pride festival in the Southeast, this event is part of a long tradition that began in 1970, one year after the historic New York City Stonewall Riots.

The first parade of the weekend is the annual Trans March that kicks off at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, from Charles Allen Gate and ends in Piedmont Park. Atlanta Dyke March begins at 6 p.m. and follows the same route. Calling All Atlanta Falcons Fans!

The Atlanta Falcons make sporting events in Atlanta memorable and exciting.

Marriott Buckhead FootBall-on-Field

Georgia received permission from the National Football League to establish a professional football team on June 30, 1965. Rankin M. Smith was given the franchise for $8.5 million. Because football is a popular sport in Atlanta, the team name was a big deal. To name the team, Mr. Smith held a contest. A teacher from Griffin won by writing, "The falcon is proud and dignified with great courage and fight. It never drops its prey. It is deadly and has a great sporting tradition."

The team's first winning season arrived in 1971, and the Falcons' most successful year occurred during 1998, so they're surely due for another. The Falcons make football in Atlanta exciting, so if you aren't a fan already, it's time to discover the sport. Die-hard fans are probably aware that the NFL's best rivalry is between the Falcons and the New Orleans Saints. The battle began in 1967, and when the Falcons play against the Saints, the game is generally one for the ages. If you're a true Falcons fan, you might remember when Roddy White dropped a perfect pass during a game against the Saints in 2006. A year later, White turned his game around and became the player fans know and love today.

The Falcons are back with the first game of the season on Monday, September 14 at 5 p.m., against the Philadelphia Eagles. To watch the Atlanta Falcons play in the company of like-minded fans, head to Shula's 347 Grill Buckhead at the Atlanta Marriott in Buckhead. The steak is as inviting as the crowd. If you'd rather see the team play in person at the Georgia Dome, stay the night at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel to relax after the game and avoid a late-night drive home.

Shula's 347 Grill: Certificate of Excellence 2015 Award Winner!

Shula's 347 Grill in Buckhead has recently been honored by TripAdvisor.

Shulas Grill 347 Award

Shula's 347 Grill in Buckhead is one of Atlanta's favorite steakhouse restaurants, named for the Hall of Fame football Coach Don Shula. He is best known as the former head coach of the Miami Dolphins, as he coached the team during some of their best years on the field. The number "347" in the name of the restaurant refers to his unparalleled record for winning games on the NFL gridiron.

The restaurant prides itself on the quality of the Premium Black Angus Beef® used in the preparation of its celebrated steaks and burgers. The most popular menu offering is The Shula Cut. According to Shula tradition, these are center cuts of steak that are hand-selected and then aged to perfection.

The cuisine options don't stop there. The Wine Country Burger, topped with roasted red peppers and fresh goat cheese, is a savory classic. Many visitors also highly recommend other signature dishes and entrees, including the Wild Mushroom Ravioli and the Rustic Chicken Salad with cranberries and multi-grain bread. In fact, Atlanta diners and visitors recommend Shula's as a fantastic place to dine altogether.

The restaurant recently received the highly coveted Certificate of Excellence 2015 Award. The popular travel website awards this honor to restaurants and other attractions that consistently earn high marks and stellar reviews from travelers. These aren't reviews from critics, but from everyday people who frequent, enjoy, and celebrate the establishment. Shula's 347 Grill earned this big win the hard way!

Shula's 347 Grill in Buckhead is located in the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center, a popular hotel for those coming to the Buckhead area to take in the arts, culture, and fine dining experiences the neighborhood has to offer.

The 9th Atlanta Horror Film Festival Brings Fear to the South

9th Atlanta Horror Film Festival

Discover the best in independent horror when you attend film festivals in Atlanta

Looking for things to do in Atlanta this fall? The 9th Atlanta Horror Film Festival, AHFF for short, is coming to DooGALLERY October 29 and 30, 2015. The gallery is in a converted warehouse, which provides an open and modern looking space to view art. The setting naturally lends itself to a chilling atmosphere as the film festival begins.

The AHFF has gained a reputation for showing many great horror films since it first started almost a decade ago. It focuses on the works of independent and foreign filmmakers whose movies do not often receive a large showing in the United States, making it a great place to see films you might not find elsewhere. Since it attracts a large number of filmmakers who are just starting out, it also gives attendants a chance to discover talented new visionaries in the horror genre before the rest of the world.

Just because AHFF only shows horror films, don't think that the content is not diverse. It includes all styles of horror films. There are ones with a generous helping of blood, quiet and brooding suspense thrillers, and dark comedies with an element of terror. There are also a number of short film showcases that include horror shorts, comedy horror shorts and animated horror shorts. Throughout the festival, many showings will be attended by members of the cast and crew. At the end of the festival, awards are given for the best film in each category.

If you're looking for a great place to stay while attending the AHFF, then book a room at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center. It is an easy drive from there to the festival. It is also in a prime location for exploring many of Atlanta's other great attractions. The hotel has many packages available to help you get the most out of your stay.
